While established leadership continues to claim that all is well, a more objective assessment of current trends highlights several areas of concern. Texas is at a crossroads, and the upcoming election is as significant as any we have seen in recent years. It is critical that the delegates at this year's State Convention be allowed fair debate and deliberation to determine together the best course of action for the State Party to ensure future success.
State of the Party -- A no-holds-barred summary of the current state of RPT leadership and the frustration of the grassroots.
2008 Biennial Report -- This report is being shared with you as a Delegate/Alternate to the 2008 Statewide Convention to be held in Houston. This may be the most important Republican event you ever attend. Throughout the United States three Republican Congressional seats were lost in the last two weeks in Special Elections in Illinois, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
The report provides you with a wealth of information, which you may not have considered as you prepare to represent all Texas Republicans and keep the "Grand Old Party" alive and well in this great state. Contained in it are facts, figures, and history to keep Republican officeholders and candidates in leadership roles as the state faces redistricting in 2011.
Those of us who have participated in putting this document together are the "grassroots" on which this party has achieved in the past and can achieve in the future.

It is reprinted here with permission in the hope that it will shed some light on the important credentials issues we will face at this year's convention.
